Meredith Jobe (Of Counsel)
Mr. Jobe received his undergraduate degree from Loma Linda University. He earned his MBA and juris doctor degrees from the University of Southern California, where he served on Law Review. He has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1981. Prior to going into private practice, Mr. Jobe was in-house real estate counsel for Federated Department Store’s western region (including Ralphs grocery store division). He is currently a partner at Jobe & Stoterau in Glendale. In addition, he is of counsel to Knapp, Petersen & Clarke. Mr. Jobe has a transactional practice, specializing in acquisition, disposition, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate. In addition, he counsels clients in the areas of nonprofit organizations, estate planning, and closely-held entities such as corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. As an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Mr. Jobe has served the denomination in numerous volunteer capacities. He is currently on the 13-member board for Adventist Health System/West, which operates 20 hospitals in the states of California, Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii. (http://www.adventisthealth.com) In addition, he has been a member and vice chairman of the board of trustees of La Sierra University and a member of the executive committee (governing board) of the Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. In 1996, Mr. Jobe authored the book chapter on “Nonprofit Unincorporated Associations” for the California Transactions Forms volumes published by Bancroft-Whitney. He is the past chair of the California State Bar Committee on Nonprofit Corporations and Unincorporated Associations. Among recent transactions, Mr. Jobe has advised clients on (a) the acquisition, development and leasing of a 600,000 square foot power center to be anchored by Wal-Mart and a Sam’s Club; (b) the construction and management agreements for a 2,000 space off-airport parking structure; (c) the leasing and acquisition of a half-dozen supermarket locations; (d) the preparation of a long-term medical office lease for a dialysis center; and (e) the preparation of multiple shop leases with national tenants for a shopping center expansion.
