MARA L. WEBER Ms. Weber, a principal with the firm, attended the University of California at Santa Cruz and then the University of Southern California, where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy and was elected to the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Ms. Weber received her juris doctor from the University of California at Los Angeles in June 1981 and was admitted to the California State Bar in December 1981. She is also admitted to practice in the federal court for the Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Weber focuses her practice on insurance coverage and litigation of insurance coverage disputes. She first practiced as an associate specializing in first-party property and casualty coverage. Her caseload involved commercial and personal lines of insurance, including homeowners’ policies, personal article floaters, transit, bailee and jewelers’ block policies, and a variety of other commercial risk coverages. In addition to providing detailed coverage opinions on pending claims, Ms. Weber has extensive experience in conducting examinations under oath, directing investigation of suspected fraudulent claims, and defense of bad faith actions. In 1986, Ms. Weber joined a firm where she continued her first-party practice, while adding to her caseload complex third-party coverage cases involving a variety of third-party commercial risks.
