Such litigation background has been a significant benefit in Knapp, Petersen & Clarke’s auditing work, has lent credibility to our opinions with outside counsel, and has served to facilitate dealings with them. Mr. Jardini’s practice areas are wide ranging and include intellectual property, legal malpractice, business litigation, and employment law, including several wage and hour class-action lawsuits. His audit experience includes testifying as an expert witness in arbitration proceedings concerning the billings of major law firms in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. The matters included multidistrict litigation, environmental litigation, as well as patent and trademark infringement. He has tried and arbitrated numerous cases in which the predominant issue involved the reasonableness of attorneys’ fees and costs. He has conducted numerous audits involving, cumulatively, more than several hundred million dollars in legal billings. He has frequently served as a consultant and expert witness on the reasonableness of attorney fees.
