PETER J. SENUTY

Mr. Senuty attended Stanford University, where he was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in history, with distinction. He received his juris doctor from Stanford Law School. Mr. Senuty was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1975 and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central and Northern Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Since joining the firm and becoming a Director, Mr. Senuty formed and developed the firm’s Insurance Coverage Group and is the senior member of that group. He has broad experience in insurance coverage analysis, declaratory relief and bad faith litigation, and appellate practice in state and federal courts. Mr. Senuty has frequently conducted seminars for attorneys and insurance company claims personnel on insurance coverage issues, settlement strategies, and claims practices, as well as on legal and insurance ethics.  Mr. Senuty has served as an expert consultant and witness on insurance coverage and claims practices issues.

Mr. Senuty is a member the American Bar Association (section on torts and insurance practice), the Defense Research Institute, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.  He is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings.

On November 1, 2010, Peter Senuty was invited to join the prestigious Council on Litigation Management.  The Council is a nonpartisan alliance comprised of thousands of insurance companies, corporations, Corporate Counsel, Litigation and Risk Managers, claims professionals and attorneys.  Through education and collaboration the organization’s goals are to create a common interest in the representation by firms of companies, and to promote and further the highest standards of litigation management in pursuit of client defense.  Selected attorneys and law firms are extended membership by invitation only based on nominations from CLM Fellows.
