Mara L. Weber
Ms. Weber, a Principal with the firm, attended the University of California at Santa Cruz and then the University of Southern California, where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy and was elected to the honor societies Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Ms. Weber received her juris doctor from the University of California at Los Angeles. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1981 and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Weber is a member of the firm’s Insurance Coverage Group, where she specializes in all aspects of first and third party insurance coverage, including litigation of insurance coverage disputes. She has analyzed policies and authored hundreds of coverage opinion letters involving personal and commercial auto, homeowners and marine coverages; comprehensive general liability coverages; personal and advertising injury liability coverages; directors and officers coverages; and commercial property and business interruption coverages. Her coverage expertise reaches from issues involving intellectual property rights to complex questions of construction defect coverage.
Ms. Weber has extensive experience in all aspects of complex claim settlement, including proper documentation and the handling of governmental, medical, hospital, ERISA, and attorney lien issues.
Ms. Weber has presented seminars to insurer clients and is available for immediate advice on claims handling practices and lien issues.
